Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS)
Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS)
Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) has replaced BHRS (formerly know as wraparound services). IBHS provides supports for children, youth or young adults under the age of 21 with mental, emotional, or behavioral health needs. To qualify to receive IBHS, the child, youth or young adult must have a behavioral health diagnosis. Services can be provided in the home, school, or community setting. IBHS offers a wide array of services that can assist the child, youth or young adult function in their homes, schools and/or communities.
The steps for the initiating IBHS:
Obtain a written order from an individual with a qualifying license.
An individual with a qualifying license can be: a physician, physician's assistant, certified registered nurse practitioner, pediatrician, psychologist, psychiatrist, licensed clinical social worker, licensed professional counselor, or licensed marriage/family therapist.
Give the written order to an IBHS provider to begin providing services to the child, youth or young adult.
IBHS will then begin with the assessment of the child, youth or young adult's strengths and challenges, the strenghts and needs of the family, existing and needed supports for the child and what the parent/guardian needs to help the child, youth or young adult.
The written order and assessment will be used to develop the child, youth or young adult's Individual Treatment Plan (ITP). The child, youth, or young adult's ITP includes the goal of the child, youth or young adult's services and the people who are responsible for helping to implement each ITP goal.
